Product Overview

Lead Dioxide Coated Titanium Anode Plate is our custom inert electrode engineered specifically to recover copper via electrolysis from acidic & alkaline PCB etching waste liquor and micro-etch wastewater. We fabricate the substrate with Grade 1 (UNS R50250) or Grade 2 (UNS R50400) pure titanium, which meets ASTM B265 and ISO 5832-1 specifications rigidly. Its coating consists of three composite functional layers: TiO₂/SnO₂ anti-diffusion intermediate layer, α-PbO₂ bonding transition layer, and dense active β-PbO₂ outer coating. Unlike Ru-Ir or Ir-Ta MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) anodes, lead dioxide anodes offer an ultra-high oxygen evolution potential, excellent resistance to organic contamination and chloride ion corrosion, and the ability to withstand ultra-high current densities of up to 10,000 A/m².

Core Product Advantages

Three-layer gradient composite PbO₂ coating with outstanding passivation resistance. The multi-layer composite structure overcomes the defects of single-layer lead dioxide, such as easy peeling and passivation. The dense surface layer of β-PbO₂ features an ultra-high oxygen evolution potential, enabling it to withstand interference from organic additives and high chloride ion concentrations in PCB etching solutions; it ensures stable cell voltage during long-term operation and prevents sudden voltage spikes.

01

Ultra-high current carrying capacity for enhanced production line recovery efficiency. Supports an operating current density of up to 10,000 A/m²-offering a load capacity dozens of times greater than traditional MMO precious metal anodes. It is suitable for continuous production lines handling high-concentration, high-flow PCB waste liquids, significantly increasing copper recovery output per line.

02

Low total lifecycle cost; recyclable titanium substrate. Eliminates the need for expensive precious metal raw materials, resulting in an initial purchase cost far lower than that of Ruthenium-Iridium or Iridium-Tantalum MMO electrodes. Once the surface coating deactivates, the Grade 1/2 titanium plate can be stripped of the old coating and re-plated with a fresh PbO₂ layer multiple times, saving over 50% on replacement costs within three years.

03

Wide pH compatibility; suitable for all PCB etching systems. Operates stably across the full pH range of 0.1–12; compatible with acidic cupric chloride etchants and alkaline ammonia-based micro-etching waste. A single anode type works with all mainstream PCB copper recovery production lines on the market.

Application Scenarios

This lead dioxide coated titanium anode plate designed specifically for closed-loop waste recovery in PCB plants. Our coated titanium anodes fit diverse industrial applications: recovering copper from acidic etching waste, renewing alkaline ammonia etchants, removing copper from high-chloride micro-etch wastewater, treating electronics plant heavy metal wastewater, and hydrometallurgical copper electrowinning. Paired with long-life 316L/LDX2101 stainless steel cathodes, they build a complete zero-discharge copper recovery unit. It produces high-purity copper and recycles spent etchant, slashing PCB factories' hazardous waste disposal overheads.

Product Details

01.

Multi-stage pretreatment and segmented gradient plating process. The plate surface is first activated via sandblasting and acid pickling, followed by temperature-controlled, segmented plating of a three-layer composite lead dioxide coating. The resulting coating features strong adhesion, resistance to erosion and chloride ion attack, and is highly resistant to peeling.

02.

Comprehensive factory performance testing. Every finished anode undergoes four key tests-coating adhesion, accelerated chloride corrosion, oxygen evolution overpotential, and high-current stability-fully complying with international industry standards for PCB copper recovery anodes.

Logistics and After-Sales Service

Reinforced solid wood protective framing with double-layer anti-scratch foam inner packaging. One-stop free pre-sales technical support includes matching the anode to specific etching waste conditions, selecting titanium grades and coating thicknesses, OEM dimensional customization, and guidance on electrolytic cell cathode compatibility. Long-term technical services for re-coating used anodes are also provided. Free replacement for manufacturing defects in the original coating; zero-risk overseas PCB procurement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: How do I choose between Grade 1 and Grade 2 titanium substrates?

A1: Grade 2 (UNS R50400) is the mainstream, cost-effective choice for the vast majority of PCB copper recovery projects; Grade 1 (UNS R50250) offers superior ductility and is specifically used for custom ultra-thin expanded mesh anodes.

Q2: Can dimensions, mesh patterns, and coating thicknesses be customized?

A2: Full OEM customization is available; anode thickness, length/width, mesh aperture, and conductive tab welding positions can all be adjusted to match the customer's electrolytic cell specifications.
